The exterior termination is the most important — and most neglected — part of your vent system. We install code-compliant hoods that keep air moving and pests out.
You can have a perfectly clean duct run and still lose most of the benefit if the exterior hood is cracked, clogged, or wrong for the job.
The vent hood — sometimes called a vent cap or terminal — is the last few inches of your dryer's exhaust path, and it takes the most abuse: direct sun, rain, ice, and constant airflow. Cheap plastic hoods crack within a few seasons. Flappers seize open or shut. And a surprising number of homes still have fine wire mesh screens over the opening, which building codes actually prohibit — that mesh catches lint and clogs almost immediately, turning into exactly the fire hazard it was meant to prevent.
We install proper louvered, code-compliant hoods sized for real dryer exhaust — whether your termination is on a wall or a roof — so the air that made it all the way through a clean duct actually gets outside.
Schedule an InspectionAny one of these is worth a look.
Wall or roof, new construction or a decades-old original hood — we install the right termination for the job.
The most common and most serviceable termination point — installed low and accessible.
Properly flashed and sealed roof terminals for homes without a viable wall route.
A stuck flapper blocks airflow or lets pests in — we replace it with one rated for the job.
No fine mesh screens — proper louvered hoods that meet code and won't clog with lint.
Add pest protection that doesn't restrict airflow the way mesh screens do.
Learn More →Move a hard-to-reach roof termination down to an accessible exterior wall.
Learn More →A clean duct run means nothing if the exterior hood is fighting against it.
Fine mesh screens are prohibited by most codes for exactly this reason — they clog fast and become a fire hazard themselves.
A flapper frozen shut restricts exhaust just as much as a duct packed with lint.
A cracked or missing hood is an open invitation for birds and rodents looking for shelter.
We assess the existing hood, flapper, and mounting for damage and code compliance.
Wall or roof, we match the hood type and size to your vent and exterior.
Properly mounted, sealed against weather, and flashed correctly on roof installs.
A final airflow test confirms the whole system — duct and termination — is working together.
EXCELLENT Based on 484 reviews Posted on Lauren LindseyTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The best customer service I have ever experienced! We called seeking some help after a trash bag was sucked into our air duct while we were changing the air filter. It's August and in Oklahoma and we were worried it would harm our air conditioner in the heat. I called Twist and Turn, told them the whole (rather embarrassing and funny) story and David immediately recognized that time was of the essence and agreed to come help. Within a few minutes he was here, and the trash bag was quickly removed! Saved our air conditioner and what would have been a very expensive repair. When I asked what we could pay, they said they were happy to help, it was near where they were working already and only took a few minutes. I feel so blessed by the friendly and quick service over the phone from Amy and from David. If you are looking for good, neighborly, and honestly just the best people, give them a call. I had been meaning to schedule my dryer vent cleaning so I got that done too with Amy's help. Wish I could give them 10 stars!!

Thank you Lauren! So glad we could get the problem fixed quickly for you guys!Posted on Spike SpeedwellTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We have lived in the house for over ten years. The dryer vent which is routed through the slab had never been cleaned. Professional and friendly service. The gentleman that cleaned our vent was one hard working dude. First a measurement of air flow is taken for a base line comparison. Then clean, clean then clean again until nothing was picked up in the vacuum. Then a final check to ensure improved air flow. Result, a dryer vent cleaner than a colonoscopy prep. In addition to the vent duct, a thorough internal cleaning of the dryer, and a new improved flexible vent hose between the dryer and the vent connection was installed. My wife saw the difference in the dryer’s efficiency on the first load. Great company to use. Clean your dryer vent regularly for safety and efficiency. I wonder if Heidi Hooper (the artist) collects lint from this company? (Google Her)

Thank you for leaving us a review! I suppose it is kind of a lint colonoscopy in a way. That made us smile. Glad to hear the dryer is performing better!Posted on Cayla ButlerTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Fast, friendly service

Thank you!Posted on Susan KirkTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. They are just fabulous. I rarely have such a professional and very friendly service person in my home. Jeremiah very efficiently cleaned out the dryer vent, including getting on the roof. And he left my laundry room looking better than he found it. Plus, since dryer vent cleaning is all they do, there was no high pressure sales job to get me to purchase other, more expensive, services. I would highly recommend.

Thank you Joe for taking the time to leave us a review!Posted on Ellen EatonTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Jeremy and Tyson fixed a fire hazard by venting my dryer through the roof instead of the attic. While doing this, they found leaks in the attic from other roof vents and performed a water test to locate them. They made temporary repairs before an expected storm and provided a detailed report for the roofer to fix the leaks precisely.

Thank you!Posted on Ty ReinertTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Jeremiah and Mitchell came to my house to clean my Dryer Vent tube. They did an excellent job! Very knowledgeable and professional. I had it cleaned about 1 1/2 years ago, but there was a lot of new, and old, dryer lint and even the remnants an old bird’s nest that had been pushed down the 22-ft long tube. Highly recommend Twist and Turn Dryer Vent Cleaning.

They're generally the same thing — the exterior cover at the end of your dryer duct. "Hood" and "cap" are used interchangeably; what matters is that it has a working flapper and no fine mesh screen.
Screens seem like a reasonable way to keep pests out, but they catch lint almost immediately and clog within weeks — restricting airflow and creating a concentrated lint buildup right at the exterior wall. Most building codes prohibit them for this reason.
Yes, with proper flashing and sealing. That said, if your layout allows it, relocating to a wall termination is usually easier to maintain long-term.
Most installations finish in under an hour. Call (918) 605-8953 for a flat quote based on your termination type.
A clean duct deserves a hood that actually lets the air out. Schedule your inspection today.
